About Our Organization
Craft guilds originated in the Middle
Ages of the European cultures. Their
emphases were skills, quality work,
instruction and merchandising.
The Craft
Guild of Nevada County is a new idea based on the old concept.
Our
purpose encompasses enabling craft persons
and artisans to develop
skills and new
ideas and to share
needs and concerns in a supportive atmosphere.
The Craft
Guild expects to continue the strong traditions of
the historical
guild,
producing the same standards of quality craft items. We would like
to welcome
you as a visitor to our Guild and we encourage your membership and
participation.
The Guild is a non-profit, community
service organization. Guild
members provide monthly tray favors for several
local senior
care facilities as well as holiday gifts for the residents at Christmas
time. Over the years, donations
have also been made
to Interfaith
Food Ministry, the Senior Center and other local charitable groups.
Meetings are held the last Tuesday
of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Nevada County Superintendent
of Schools
office, 112 Nevada City Hwy, Nevada City, CA.
Annual dues: $20.00 Individuals, $30.00 Couples
Payable January
